For many of us, the London Underground is purely functional. But to Harry Beck, this web of geography became an obsession – a fascination with the creation of the perfect Tube map. How did Beck create the iconic diagrammatic diagram of today, and at what cost? To understand that, you need to meet Harry and his wife Nora.
Take a glimpse inside a journey of passion, a wife’s dedication and the living, breathing network of tunnels and train tracks in our capital. Embrace your inner transport enthusiast through a mash up of real-life accounts, uncovered anecdotes and seemingly unconnected facts (with a slight peppering of fictitious characters).
The Truth About Harry Beck originally appeared at The Ustinov Studio at Theatre Royal Bath and transferred to The Cubic Theatre in Covent Garden at The London Transport Museum.
Wandering Immersive show. Available again from 2026.
Shakespeare Begins takes you and your audiences on a theatrical journey in which a lost Shakespeare play comes to life around you, performed by that fine company of players at The Natural Theatre Company.
There are always rumours of Shakespeare’s early ‘lost’ plays, but we have unearthed the first draft and only known copy of his wonderful comedy entitled The Moor The Merrier.
This walkabout show is a hilarious mash-up of the best bits of Shakespeare, ‘repurposing’ extracts from Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It, Macbeth and more, to create a brand-new play. Using our unique style of walkabout comedy performance, our actors include the audience in the action by interacting with them as the characters. They improvise conversations in flawless Shakespearian language!
Shakespeare Begins has performed on the SS Great Britain in Bristol, on the streets of Bath & Sutton Coldfield, and most recently in the Birmingham Bullring shopping centre.

****** “A touching Christmas show for all the family.” – Bath Echo
Hobby, Ivor and Toe are three gnomes who are terrified of winter – it’s cold and nothing happens in December. When they fish a cracker out of their pond, a riddle tells them there used to be a thing called Christmas and they are charged with bringing it back to life!
They take a whistle stop tour through the tales and traditions behind everything we love about Christmas, only to find someone is trying to stop them. Who is it and will they succeed in recreating a fabulous new Yuletide?
This bright and cheerful show is a brilliantly bonkers family treat filled with fabulous characters, great songs, and lovely frocks. The funniest show in town this Christmas!
Running time: 1hr 10 mins (no interval)
Age: All
